New builds, refits, and onboard systems.

MarineFS is Cielo Field Systems LLC's marine product development program. We define new boats, refits, onboard systems, and marine products with the information needed by owners, builders, suppliers, installers, and reviewers. Small boats and workboats are a common focus. On larger vessels, the work can center on a product, compartment, structure, equipment change, reverse-engineering task, or onboard system.

How the work is organized

Connect each change to its interfaces, build information, and test requirements.

A change to the hull, structure, equipment, or onboard system can affect interfaces, installation work, testing, and the as-built record. The working baseline should show what is changing, which interfaces matter, what information the builder needs, and how the result will be checked.

New-boat definition

Start with intended service, operating environment, payload, crew, constraints, and acceptance criteria. Use that basis to compare platform options, arrangements, system choices, and the information needed before a builder or specialist proceeds.

Refit and reverse engineering

Establish the boat as it exists, including undocumented changes and missing records. Use measurements, photographs, inspection findings, and owner- or partner-provided scan data to define the affected geometry, interfaces, installation access, and open questions.

Aluminum and composite products

Define the function, interfaces, materials, joining approach, and production information for supplier-built mounts, frames, foundations, rails, consoles, panels, enclosures, and laminate assemblies. The supplier package should identify inspection points and any qualified review the work requires.

Systems integration

Map power, controls, propulsion, communications, navigation, sensors, auxiliaries, and payload equipment at their physical and functional interfaces. The result should be usable by the equipment supplier, installer, operator, and test team.

Project information and change control

Maintain the current configuration across models, drawings, equipment data, supplier packages, installation changes, test results, discrepancies, and as-built records.

Review basis

Identify the governing criteria early

The project basis should identify the applicable owner, OEM, contract, ABYC, ISO, class, flag, and regulatory sources. MarineFS maps those requirements to evidence, responsible parties, and review points. Regulated calculations, structural substantiation, certification, and authority acceptance remain with the qualified or authorized party responsible for them.
